Whenever I set down to drawing I usually seem to start with a sharp toothed mouth and then work my way around these features until it is complete. I never really thought about it much as I do most of my artwork without conscious thought, but when I look back on it I think this may be a reflection of my own unconsciousness and psychological profile, as these predatory mawed creatures always seem to rise to the surface when I put my pen to paper.
So for this piece I have chosen to illustrate a series of internal “self-portraits” via digital tablet. I have chosen to leave the interpretations of ambiguous, as it mirrors how even I don’t really know what to think of myself.
